Discoloration on Jewelry can occur over time due to multiple factors including exposure to moisture, chemicals, heat and even air. Metals like silver and gold are delicate and despite our efforts they can fade due to a process called oxidation.
Rubbing off the Gold Plating will occur over time and this is not considered a manufacturing fault.
You can follow these simple steps to ensure your gold plating last longer.
- Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising. make sure to wipe your jewelry dry after any contact with moisture.
- Before putting on your jewelry allow perfume. lotions and creams to completely dry or after any contact with moisture.
- After use dry or clean jewelry gently with a soft dry cloth or use our INON jewelry cloth that comes in box with your order, it remove all moisture, oils and it shines your jewelry after each use.
- When not in use, store your jewelry in your INON jewelry box in cool and dry place to prevent oxidation, scratching and to prevent chains from getting tangled.

FAQs
Will my skin turn green after wearing your jewelry?
Skin that turns green underneath a piece of jewelry doesn`t occur due to poor quality of jewelry , nor its harmful it is simply a response to certain materials in the jewelry and can appear even when wearing expensive jewelry.
The green patch that may occur on the skin may occur when the skin oxidise. This means they react to the pH levels of your skin ,which can leave a stain. People with higher pH within their skin tend to experience this.
Another common factor is the chemicals in your hand creams or perfumes which can cause the metal to oxidise even if your skin is not sensitive to metal.
Copper is the most common ingredient to cause this scenario.
What do i do to treat a green finger or neck?
if you have unfortunately experience this green staining try to use, warm water and soap.
If that doesn`t work try using make-up remover on the stain or try with alcohol for more stubborn stains. Wipe over the affected area with some cotton and then rinse off with warm water and soap.
What is PVD 18k Gold Plating?
(`PVD`) Physical Vapor Deposition)is a vacuum coating process that will produce a beautiful decorative and a very functional finish on them being coated. PVD utilizes a titanium nitride that provides an extremely durable and a tough wearing coating. PVC coatings possess a far higher resistance to wear than traditional gold plating.
Physical Vapor Deposition (`PVD`) this is a process that can be used for numerus materials but is often used as a way to apply one metal ( in our case, 18k gold) with another metal ( in our case , stainless steel , brass or 925 sterling silver , unless stated) to bond them together.
Gold Plaiting occurs when a thin layer of real gold is plated onto another metal. Gold plating is often done to give the look of real gold at a fraction of the cost of having a piece of jewelry that is solid gold. Gold plating doesn`t offer the durability of gold PVD coating and when scratched can reveal the base material. We use the highest quality PVD process so that you get the aesthetic and durability.
Is your jewelry hypo-allergic?
Hypoallergenic jewelry is made from materials less likely to cause a reaction.
If you have a allergy to some jewelry, most of the time it`s due to either Nickel and Copper. Brass is a Copper and Zinc alloy but our Stainless Steel pieces do not contain Nickel, Chronium or lead which are common irritant for people who are sensitive to some jewelry.
How long does the gold plating last?
Well every person differ in the lifestyle hence it differs from person to person, in some it can last 2-3 years in some it can last 3-6 moths if well taken care off the PVD Gold Plating can last even to wards over a year, refer to our care instructions to learn more.
